Upright Old Glory - Adriane L. Johnson

nUpright Old Glory is a heartfelt poem that speaks up for the American flag and what it truly stands for-freedom, justice, and unity. The author, Adriane Johnson, was inspired to write this piece after seeing the flag displayed upside down by people in power as a sign of protest. She felt this was disrespectful to the many men and women who have fought and died for the country.n nn nIn the poem, the flag itself speaks. It asks people to respect it and what it represents. It warns against using anger, hate, or lies to tear down the country's values. It reminds us that we must stand strong for democracy, equal rights, and truth.n nn nThe poem ends with a message of hope that no matter the hard times, the spirit of America will shine through if we stay true to its ideals. Flying the flag upright shows pride, respect, and unity.n
