The Picasso Heist is a true story--except for the parts that aren't. It's about organized crime, power-hungry officials, filthy rich Manhattan art people, and a twenty-two-year-old thief who stole from them all. n One of the rules of the Witness Protection Program is that you're not allowed to profit off the reason they stick you in it. n How James Patterson even heard about my story in the first place is still a mystery to me, although I guess that's what a lot of his books are--mysteries. n Patterson must have had access to somebody awfully high up with a badge, because that's the only way to explain it. n There's a reason none of what I told him ever made it into the press. n You might think you know what's going on, and you might think you know what's going to happen next. n And maybe some of you will. n Most of you won't. n n --Halston G. nOrganized crime bosses, power-hungry government officials, filthy rich Manhattan art people, and a notorious forger all vie for control of a $100 million painting. n nA previously unknown Picasso--hidden for decades in the attic of a French villa--rocks the art world. nThe momentous discovery is transported to a New York auction house. nWhoever possesses this artwork will make an indelible mark. n But none of the power players are counting on a twenty-two-year-old art thief shrewd enough to steal the show.n
