Pride in Travel

The 2013/14 season was more than just another glorious campaign for Manchester City--it also provided a fantastic adventure for Canadian-born Blue Darryl Webster, who traveled over 40,000 miles to visit City supporters' clubs all over the world. From hometown Toronto, Darryl sets out to watch a City match at the local pub of a maximum possible number of supporters' clubs. Forced to endure dodgy flights, crippling hangovers, and crushing defeats as well as famous last-minute victories, he quickly moves outside his comfort zone on an entertaining global voyage from Chicago to Hong Kong, Gibraltar to Reykjavik, New York to Abu Dhabi, and beyond. Pride in Travel is the captivating story of a season away from home among Manchester City's far-flung international supporters--a wildly diverse range of exotic characters displaying the inimitable charm of the "Typical City" fan--all set against the backdrop of a journey towards self-discovery.
